Good morning. Let's make some mistakes basketball.

FREE AGENCY BEGINS: Seven hours into the 2014 free agent period, we don't appear to have any major mistakes on our hands. Yet. We only have one actual deal of note, and it's not for a current free agent: Kyrie Irving has reportedly agreed to a five-year max early extension with the Cavaliers.

THE MELODRAMA II RELEASE SCHEDULE: New York is last to get it, for a change.

OH: The Pacers created a movie about Lance Stephenson to show Lance Stephenson at midnight. Its Rotten Tomatoes score is 24%.

WELL HERE'S AN INTERESTING HEAT RUMOR: Luol Deng! Who plays defense (check) and hits mid-range jumpers. Here's Ricky O'Donnell on the Heat's flexibility.

KIDD IS FREE: And so is, unfortunately, Larry Drew. The Bucks finalized their deal for Jason Kidd on Monday (two seconds to Brooklyn) and fired Drew. Kidd is expected to reach a lucrative deal to coach Jabari Parker and the Bucks soon. And the strangest 72-hour tempest of the offseason will come to a close.

THE NETS! LOST $144 MILLION! That's what Zach Lowe reports in his Kidd debrief, cribbing from a league memo that lays out team profits and losses without accounting for arena revenue. You can't be losing that much money, Nets. That's gonna sting.

NEXT UP: The Nets and Lakers now have the last two coaching vacancies in the league. Lionel Hollins and Ettore Messina are said to be the favorites in Brooklyn.

THE ROCKETS WIN ROUND 1: It appears that Houston snuck in to see Kyle Lowry first. The Rockets do realize that Lowry already played in H-Town and that it seemed to have ended badly, right?

LITTLE ZEKE: The Celtics, who employ Rajon Rondo and now Marcus Smart, made the first call to Isaiah Thomas. #FreeRondo

JAMEER IS FREE: The Magic waived Jameer Nelson to open up some additional cap space and clear the path for Elfrid Payton.

RISE OF THE SUNS: How the Suns can light the West on fire with a strong free agent period.

THE JAVARIS STORY: Flinder Boyd goes deep on the fall of Javaris Crittenton.

OH BOY: As reported by ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne, this is an actual sentence from a Donald Sterling court document: "It was unclear at what point a medical examination ceased and a social interaction began, with the consumption of alcoholic beverages taking place." The rich lead a different life, man. "Meet me for drinks and a mental evaluation?" "Ciao!"

EVERYTHING IS A COMMODITY: I think NBA teams should be able to trade everything, not just players, coaches and draft picks. Trade time zones, organists, playoff opponents, social media personnel, cap space. Everything.

Happy Tuesday. See you next time.
