Chris Bosh likely to sign with Rockets after LeBron James chooses Cavaliers

With James headed back home, Bosh will likely join Dwight Howard and James Harden in Houston.

Update: Bosh, Miami finalizing 5-year contract

With LeBron James headed back home to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Chris Bosh will likely join Dwight Howard and James Harden with the Houston Rockets:

The Rockets entered free agency with their eyes on Carmelo Anthonybut their focus turned to Bosh once it appeared Anthony wasn't coming and James might leave the Miami Heat.

Houston already had an agreement in place to deal Omer Asik to the New Orleans Pelicans in order to clear cap space, and a trade of Jeremy Lin to the Philadelphia 76ers is also reportedly prepped and ready to go to get even closer to a max deal.

The Rockets can't quite sign Bosh outright to his full max if they want to keep Chandler Parsonswho recently signed a three-year, $45 million offer sheet with the Dallas Mavericks. However, if Houston can sell off a bunch of its smaller parts, they can get close to a max and then match Parsons' offer sheet. That's currently the plan:

A top four of Bosh, Howard, Harden and Parsons would be stacked and a certain contender in the Western Conference, even with some shaky depth. Bosh is a perfect fit as a stretch 4 next to Howard, and that duo would be a terror defensively down low.
