Kevin Hart is back, but this year someone else will go home with the Celebrity Game Most Valuable Player award. That's because Hart -- who earned the honor last year for the fourth time and later announced his retirement -- will move to the sidelines this season, where he will try to lead Team USA past a Drake-coached Team Canada.
Hart's team has a good chance. For one, not having Hart, a famous ball hog, on the floor should help improve Team USA's offensive flow and overall effort.
The most talented celebrity on Hart's roster appears to be actor Jason Sudeikis, who played on a St. Louis AAU team with Warriors guard Brandon Rush and his brothers Kareem (who played for the Lakers) and JaRon (who played at UCLA). Sudeikis will be joined on the court by reigning WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne, as well as former NBA All-Star Chauncey Billups, who seems like he can still get up and down the floor.
The other player of note on Team USA is Marc Lasry, the 54-year-old co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks. Write-ups of Lasry have described him as an avid pick-up basketball player. Whether he's any good is yet to be seen.
Team Canada's top celebrity is Win Butler, the 6'4 frontman of the band Arcade Fire, who can also knock down shots from deep.
As mentioned above, he'll be coached by Drake. Former two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash and Major League Baseball All-Star Jose Bautista, of the Toronto Blue Jays, will serve as Drake's assistant coaches.
