Wizards forward Kelly Oubre will be suspended for Game 4 of the Wizards-Celtics second round series, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Oubre charged and pushed Kelly Olynyk in Game 3 after taking exception to a couple of moving screens that he felt crossed the line.
Oubre was ejected from Game 3 and now will miss Game 4. This isn’t a huge surprise, especially considering how much contact Oubre made with a referee while shoving Olynyk to the ground:
Washington still won without Oubre, but his absence weakens the Wizards depth as they head into Game 4 on Sunday trailing the series two games to one. In Games 1 and 2, Oubre played a combined 54 minutes while scoring an efficient 24 points, including four made three-pointers.
Without Oubre, the Wizards will likely give Bojan Bogdonavic more minutes and perhaps even play Tomas Satoransky, although it’s possible they limit the rotation and keep Bradley Beal on the floor for even longer stretches if the game is close.
Regardless, the play is a reminder that these teams really, really don’t like each other.
