(Sports Network) - The Boston Celtics proved that they can rebound after a tough loss and will try to start another winning streak tonight, when they welcome the Utah Jazz for an evening battle at TD Garden.

Boston opened the season with six straight victories before the Phoenix Suns spoiled the show with a win Friday in Beantown. The Celtics then departed for New Jersey and handed the lowly Nets an 86-76 setback the following night, thanks to 16 points and five steals from newly-paid point guard Rajon Rondo. Paul Pierce contributed 16 points and seven assists for Boston, which shot 44.9 percent from the floor.

Ray Allen scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter for the Celtics, while Kevin Garnett, Rasheed Wallace and Kendrick Perkins each notched nine points in a winning effort.

"We got good looks [in the fourth quarter]," Allen said. "The last couple of games we've been getting good looks but not knocking them down."

The Celtics will also host the Atlanta Hawks on their quick homestand.

Utah, meanwhile, will resume a four-game road trip on the East Coast and opened the swing with a 95-93 triumph over the New York Knicks Monday from Madison Square Garden.

Mehmet Okur put the Jazz ahead for good with a basket less than two minutes to go and ended with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the win, Utah's second in three tries. Carlos Boozer led the way with 23 points and 14 boards, while Andrei Kirilenko also netted 23 points for the Jazz, who bounced back from a home loss to Sacramento on Saturday night.

"At the end of the game we got a stop when we had to," said Boozer. "We something we haven't been doing. In the fourth quarter we lost the last couple of games, so I'm proud of ourselves winning tonight. But we have a lot to improve on."

Utah also snapped a five-game road losing streak dating back to last season with the win at MSG. It will also visit Philadelphia and Cleveland on the road swing.

The Jazz and Celtics split a pair of matchups a year ago, but Boston has won six of 10 and seven of the last 12 meetings. Utah has lost three of five and six of its last nine as the visitor in this series.
