Recap: Golden State vs. LA Clippers

Sports Network | February 11, 2010

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) -Rookie Stephen Curry picked up the slack in the absence of leading scorer Monta Ellis, notching his first ever triple-double with 36 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds, as Golden State routed the Los Angeles Clippers, 132-102, to bring a nine-game losing streak to a rousing end.

Curry made 11-of-22 shots from the floor, including a career-best seven three- pointers, and sank 7-of-11 at the free throw line. Fellow rookie Anthony Tolliver made 11-of-16 shots to post a career-high 29 points in his sixth ever NBA start.

Anthony Morrow recorded 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Warriors, who were playing without Ellis after he went down with a left knee injury in a loss to Dallas on Monday.

Golden State responded by connecting on a season-high 62 percent of its shots, and a season-best 13 three-pointers.

Al Thornton had 18 points, while Rasual Butler and Eric Gordon each scored 16 for the Clippers, who have dropped four straight and eight of their last nine games overall.

Curry got things started for the hosts by knocking down five three-pointers -- tying a Warriors record -- in the first quarter en route to a 38-20 lead after 12 minutes of play.

Golden State'; 15-4 run in the third quarter left little doubt about the outcome, as Morrow sank three straight free throws to top the century mark and give the Warriors a commanding 102-67 lead with two minutes left in the frame.

The Warriors led 110-74 entering the final 12 minutes and played out the rest of their resounding win with relative ease.

Curry also set a career mark for assists and matched his previous best for field goals made and rebounds...The Warriors also set a season high with 36 assists. C.J. Watson had eight of those and added 11 points, as did Andris Biedrins. Ronny Turiaf added 12 points to the win...Craig Smith scored 14 points and newly-anointed All-Star Chris Kaman had 13 in the loss for LA, which shot 42 percent from the field. Golden State ended 13-of-22 from long distance. Both Tolliver and Morrow had three of those.
