Amare Stoudemire added 15 points and Carlos Powell donated 12 for the Suns, which were without forward Grant Hill because of a right ankle sprain.
New Portland point guard Andre Miller led its cause with 25 points, six assists and five rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge posted 20 points and seven rebounds. Greg Oden notched a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Brandon Roy added 11 points on just 4-of-13 shooting in this battle of Western Conference competitors.
