Point of no return?
Melo's first press conference in a Nuggets uniform for the upcoming 2010-11 season had plenty of awkward moments.

I've read that people change jobs five to eight times in their careers, how does my job history compare to some NBA players?
NBA blog preview links ... we'll start with the Atlantic Division.
A quick look around some recent NBA news ... Dampier now a free agent - is Denver a suitor?
I got into a bit of a quote marathon today using the movie A Few Good Men, it made me want to run home and watch it. Once I got to thinking about older movies, I started thinking about basketball movies and what my favorites are ...
The Nuggets starting center has overcome a lot in his young life with injuries and cancer. Now the only thing standing in Nene's way from becoming a dominant big man in the NBA is himself.
For the past few offseasons the Nuggets front office has been lauded for cutting cost while keeping the team competitive. The old regime took the team all the way to the Western Conference Finals, but the band of Mark Warkentien, Rex Chapman, and Bret Bearup has broken up.
Denver's newest edition, Al Harrington, has been all smiles on his ride to town. But one criticism of the 6'9'' forward is that he's 30 years-old and has perhaps peaked as a player. It's funny when you compare your own age to the NBA age stereotypes ... the results can be horrifying.
My collegue here at Denver Stiffs, Andrew Feinstein, suggested in his latest piece that, "if Melo waffles on signing the extension ... the Nuggets may have to do one more right thing and trade Melo while they can." While I agree that Denver should do something if Melo doesn't re-sign, I don't think anyone will be happy with the options.
The Nuggets are going to need Chris Birdman Andersen to have a Phoenix type rebirth and rise to new heights out of last season's ashes.
I'm standing here in right field ... I guess I should have been in left field so I could have seen Al Harrington coming.
Farewall Johan Petro ... we barely knew you and the Nuggets could have used your game this season.
