For the third time in 10 days, the Nets lost to the Hawks and although there were some positives, including multiple comebacks, they couldn't come up with a win and fell to 2-8.

Deron Williams was happy to see Marshon Brooks on the court Saturday but noted that he knew he wasn't at full strength, despite his solid play. "I could tell he was a little – walking a little gingerly the last game, (and) didn’t have all his explosiveness,'' Williams said at shootaround Monday. "So it’ll be good to get him back at full strength.''

It's still much too early to fully grade the Nets trade for Deron Williams last February. The Nets' pursuit of Dwight Howard, so dependent on the acquisition of D-Will, is still up in the air while Derrick Favors is still only 20 and the Jazz still has one more draft pick, the Warriors 2012 choice, from the deal. And Brook Lopez has yet to play.

The Atlanta Hawks completed a difficult nine game in 12 days start to the season with a 6-3 start. The schedule eases a bit over the next few days but the Hawks can ill-afford to let up.

Brook Lopez, making his first appearance of the season, told reporters he is confident things are going well ... and an x-ray taken Saturday night showed that indeed things are going well. However, he wouldn't predict when he will return from the injury which was expected to take six to eight weeks of recovery and rehab, suggesting a return in about a month.
