Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith moves up two spots in SB Nation's MVP Power Rankings this week to No. 8. Smith has stepped up his game averaging 22 points and 12 rebounds in the three games since Al Horford's injury.
The Atlanta Hawks announced on Tuesday that Al Horford had successful surgery to repair his torn pectoral muscle. The injury is expected to sign the former All-Star for three to four months.
Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks are hoping to continue their hot start to the season as they host the Toronto Raptors in a matinee game on NBA TV as part of the league's tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.
