The Nets have until Wednesday to make the decision and although they could change their mind it seems likely the Nets will decide to reduce their 2012-13 payroll even further by not renewing James.

The Nets announced Saturday that Damion James will undergo surgery to replace the screw in his right foot. The surgery will take place Tuesday at the Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis.

An effective scorer and a good rebounder. Fluid and quick. Flashes a nice mid-range game with a consistent jump-shot. Has a big wingspan for a player his size and is solid defensively.

Flaws

Not overwhelmingly explosive athletically. Not much of a passer. Needs to keep working on his shooting stroke (from both the perimeter and the free-throw stripe).
