Brad Miller announced he'd be retiring at season's close a little while ago. He actually talked about retirement last year, but joined longtime coach Rick Adelman in Minnesota after being included in the epic Jonny Flynn trade. On Thursday, he played his final game for the Timberwolves, coming out of the game late in the fourth.

Martell Webster's hair almost ruined the heartwarming moment. Almost.

Former Bulls Center Brad Miller Is Retiring -- Read Trey Kerby's Eulogy To His NBA Career

As someone who has been a fairly prolific (in output only) fake Internet sportswriter since before Deadspin had "jumps", I can say with conviction that one of the hardest things to do is writing something you know people are going to read, something that is expected to be extra good because of the subject matter at hand.

When the White Sox went to the World Series in 2005 and I was the only freshman sportswriter for the school newspaper at my small South Side college? Pretty sure I vomited on the keyboard of my parents' Gateway desktop, like, six times out of pure nerves. Same goes for when the Bears played the Packers in the NFC Championship two years ago, when the Bulls played the Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, or, most recently, when the Bears traded for perennially misunderstood wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Writing (at least when you're not super, A+ good) can be tormenting enough when no one is reading. When something is, gah, expected of you? Yeah, that can be mega-difficult.

Yesterday, Brad Miller told Yahoo's Marc Spears he was retiring. The tweet was pretty great:

Yes, hunting shows. Because, duh, what else would Brad Miller do with his free time?

If you are the type of human who likes basketball, the Internet, and jokes, the first person you probably thought of upon reading this was Basketball Jones blogger Trey Kerby. If something like "Brad Miller's biggest fan" is a real thing, then that person is certainly Trey. With bated breath, the Internet waited on Trey's eulogy to the NBA career of the former Chicago Bulls center. It was published today, and we're happy to say he knocked it out of the park, like it was no biggie.

Says Trey:

"He’s just a dude. He doesn’t need a narrative."

Yes, that about sums it up so far as Brad Miller goes. So, go to TBJ and read the whole thing. There's a bunch of videos to go along with a lot of really good words. There's even a Cuonzo Martin shout-out in there for all of you East St. Louis High School basketball fans. Something for everyone, as they say, or at least people who like basketball, the Internet, jokes, and/or East St. Louis High School hoops.

Not even sure how to process this, but it's amazing. In a good way. Brad Miller retiring to concentrate on hunting shows just seems like the most Brad Miller thing ever.

Now, notice the tweet doesn't specify whether Miller is going to start producing, starring in, or just watching hunting shows. I mean, they are usually on during the morning hours and daytime -- I'm told. And the man will need something to do when he's retired. Or is he shopping a reality show?

So many questions and so few answers, but here's hoping he's focusing on hunting shows -- you know, shooting and fishing and all that. And hopefully Chris Kaman is somehow involved. The world needs this.

VIDEO: Ricky Rubio Wears A Justin Bieber Backpack

There weren't a lot of exciting NBA rumors that happened during NBA All-Star weekend because most people were probably too excited about Minnesota Timberwolves big man Kevin Love winning the three-point contest. The NBA posted something on their Youtube channel to set the internet ablaze, however.

Love mentioned at the outset of All-Star weekend, during an interview with ESPN's Bill Simmons, that he has the rookies wearing funny backpacks as part of the hazing process -- a trick he apparently picked up from veteran center Brad Miller. The video sleuths went to work and confirmed that this weeekend, too, catching Ricky Rubio wearing a Justin Bieber backpack as he stepped off the All-Star bus.

It's fun to see the screencap of the video just being Blake Griffin making that "are you guys seriously recording this?" face while the cameraman goes into Blair Witch mode while following Rubio wearing a Biebs backpack. It had to happen, though, right?

Minnesota Timberwolves Trade As Poorly As They Draft

Say this about Minnesota Timberwolves' GM Dave Kahn...he's nothing if not consistent. After the Great Point Guard Debacle Of 2009, Kahn has developed a reputation for headline-making and head-scratching moves during and after the NBA Draft.

While it wasn't apparent right away, Kahn was no slouch in 2011 either.

First, we come to find out that 2nd Round pick Tanguy Ngombo is actually 26-years-old, making him ineligible for the draft.

Now comes word that his draft-day trade that sent guard Jonny Flynn to the Houston Rockets for Brad Miller and the 23rd pick almost got rescinded after Rocket team doctors became wary of Flynn’s hip.

Until Flynn passed his physical on Friday, several NBA trades were held up in the league office. Minnesota had traded the 23rd pick to Chicago for the 28th pick, and immediately made a deal with Miami to move No. 28 for the Heat’s spot at No. 31. The T’wolves then sent No. 31 to the Nets for a future second-round pick and cash. Everything had to be put on hold until Minnesota further compensated Houston with the draft pick, and the Rockets agreed to clear Flynn on the physical.

The big question now is, was Minnesota aware Flynn's hip was in such bad shape and might not pass a physical before they traded him? With Kahn at the helm, anything seems possible.

Kyle Korver Buys Glencoe Home. Looking? Brad Miller's House Still For Sale

New Chicago Bull Kyle Korver has purchased a house in Glencoe. And, according to the Chicago Tribune, he got himself a deal:

Chicago Bulls guard and forward Kyle Korver has paid $1.38 million for a 16-room mansion in Glencoe that once was listed for $2.95 million.

Wow! Less than half the original listing price. And he got a lot for his money:

Built in 2008, Korver’s six-bedroom house has five baths, a spa, a home theater, and a walkout basement. The home first was listed by its builder in October 2008 for $2.95 million and later was reduced to $2.7 million and then, in 2009, to $2.395 million, $2.1 million and $1.75 million. This past June, the home was reduced further to $1.38 million, and sold in a short sale.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a house in this bracket, ex-Bull Brad Miller's house is still on the market.

Miller, who is now playing for the Houston Rockets, has reduced the asking price for his home in Highland Park:

Brad Miller, the seven-footer who did two tours of duty with the Chicago Bulls, has reduced the asking price on his former home in Highland Park to $1.199 million. He made the 4 percent price cut on September 30th, just 28 days after the home went on the market with an asking price of $1.250 million.
