Jerome Randle had a big game for the Dallas Mavericks during Tuesday night's NBA preseason game with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Cal grad had a game-high 17 points to lead all scorers.

NBA training camp invites for the 2011-12 season should be more interesting than most considering teams will have just two weeks to install new offenses, get into game shape and whittle themselves down to a 15-man roster before the games actually begin to matter.

The opening night of the NBA is, well, tonight and even though that makes me happier than Screech the time he and Lisa were husband and wife for a class project, I can't help but look at the past month's roster cuts and think about what might have been.
