NBA Veterans Continue To Sign With NBA D-League

NBA veterans Antoine Wright and Stephen Graham both signed in the D-League on Friday, league sources told Ridiculous Upside. They join Kareem Rush, who joined on Thursday, as well as Ridiculous Upside favorite Jordan Eglseder as players who've recently signed in the D-League.

Nets Waive Stephen Graham

The Nets announced Thursday morning that they have waived Stephen Graham, reducing their roster to 14 players. (DeShawn Stevenson would make it 15 again.) The Nets needed to waive Graham Thursday, so that he could clear waivers before his $1.1 million contract became guaranteed.

Stephen Graham Awaits His Fate

Getting laid off on Christmas Eve sounds much like Dickens "A Christmas Carol". Only this year, Billy King could be Scrooge and Stephen Graham Bob Cratchit. The Nets must decide by Saturday whether to dump Graham and save themselves $1.1 million, money that could be used for cap the least.

Deadlines and Commitments - XLV

The pace is quickening now. Players will start arriving in significant numbers Monday. Deron Williams will be talking Nets in the WFAN Studio. The full schedule will be announced Tuesday night. The CBA is expected to be ratified Wednesday. Expect a rush of rumors Thursday and the opening of training camp (and first free agent signings) on Friday.

Deadlines and Commitments - XLI

It's a combination of bad news and news from Europe and Springfield that drives our latest edition of Deadlines & Commitments. The Calendar of Dread, dates that ultimately lead to the season's cancellation, is the driving force, with some dates related to Istanbul and Springfield thrown in.

Deadlines and Commitments - XL

The Calendar of Dread has now replaced the NBA Schedule as the defining agenda for Nets fans. So, in our weekly Deadlines and Commitments, we try to stay on top of news from the three Nets under contract overseas as well as rookie Bojan Bogdanovic and track the Springfield Armor.

Deadlines & Commitments - XXXIX

The Calendar of Dread now takes front and center position on the NetsDaily Deadlines and Commitments list. Expect that the NBA will cancel another round of preseason games sometime in the early part of the week, perhaps after Monday's round of talks.

Deadlines & Commitments - XXXVIII

Let the (European) games begin. Over the next two weeks, Deron Williams and Jordan Farmar will begin their European adventure in earnest as they move from friendly tournaments to games that matter. D-Will will be up first on September 27, a week from Tuesday, when Besiktas hosts Dexia Mons of Belgium.

Deadlines & Commitments - XXXVI

Deron Williams and family are in Istanbul and it won't be long before he takes the court. Besiktas announced Thursday that he will play in preseason games a week from Saturday.

Graham Still In, Wright Probably Out

In two moves to give them more flexibility in trades, the Nets have decided to extend their deadline on re-signing Stephen Graham and will almost certainly not give Brandan Wright a qualifying offer that would ensure him a place on the roster next season.

Helping Out a Friend Helping Out

Although he still spends his off-seasons in Florida, Stephen Graham traveled to Fort Worth this week to help out a friend from Oklahoma State. Charles Hickman, coach at Fort Worth Polytechnic, was having a hard time getting kids to sign up for a community basketball camp and recruited Graham. The presence of an NBA player changed everything.

Deadlines and Commitments - XXV

It's all about the draft now, with the parade of individual tryouts slated to begin this week and the adidas Treviso EuroCamp, the last group workout the week after. Expect mock drafts to become more frequent and more accurate as the month goes on. The Draft itself of course will be held at Prudential Center this June.
