Four Armor Players, MacKinnon Set For D-League Chicago Combine

Dennis Horner has accepted an invitation to the Nets summer league camp, but he'll be among four Armor players at the third-annual D-League Elite Mini Camp on Monday and Tuesday at Chicago’s Moody Bible Institute. Bob MacKinnon, the Armor coach, will also be there to help run the camp. The Nets will be on hand to further scout D-League talent.

Three Armor Named All-D-League

Jerry Smith, Jeff Foote and Dennis Horner were all named to the D-League All-Star team Wednesday, with Foote and Smith named to the second team and Horner, the third. JamesOn Curry was named honorable mention.

Armor Season Ends With Loss

The Springfield Armor's precedent-setting season ended Monday night when the Canton Charge beat them, 115-106, and won the best two out of three first round playoff. The Charge out-rebounded the Armor, 48-31 and out-shot the Armor, 56.2% to 44%. The Charge now moves on to the second round.

Armor Live To Fight Another Day

The Armor's season comes down to one game, Monday at 7 p.m., after Springfield beat the Canton Charge in overtime, 125-116, evening the first playoff series, 1-1. The two teams play again tomorrow at the MassMutual Center in Springfield. The winner will play whoever comes out of the Austin Toros-Erie Bayhawks series.

Armor Down To Last Chance

The D-League playoffs are unforgiving. After losing Friday night in Canton, OH, the Armor will battle the Charge again Sunday in the best-of-three opening round series. If they lose, their season is over. If they win, they'll live another day. The Charge dominated from early on, winning 108-93

Armor Looking Legit for Playoffs

The Armor flew into Austin Friday to face the Toros, who had the second best record in the D-League and a nine-game winning streak. Led by Jerry Smith, JamesOn Curry and Jeff Foote, the Armor won, 110-99, stamping themselves as a legitimate championship contender in the D-League playoffs which start next week.

Armor Jockeying For Playoff Spot

The Armor has clinched a playoff spot but are now looking for homecourt advantage, although a loss Tuesday night hurt them and now a Texas swing won't make it any easier. The Armor are in second place, one game back of the Iowa Energy, in the East, but they lost to the Erie Bayhawks, the Knicks affiliate, which gave Erie a tie breaker.

Armor Rebounds With Balance

Four Armor players scored 20 or more Tuesday night as the Nets' D-League affiliate broke a losing streak in South Dakota, beating the Sioux Falls Skyforce, 115-109. JamesOn Curry led with 23, while center Jeff Foote posted 22 and 9 rebounds in his second game back from a stint with the Hornets. L.D. Williams added 21 and Lance Hurdle 20.

As Players Go Up, Armor Go Down

The Springfield Armor has lost two of its three All-Stars in the past week, with Jeff Foote being called up to the Hornets and Jerry Smith joining the Nets. The Armor lost to the Tulsa 66ers Friday night, their fourth in its last five outings Not an auspicious start for a road trip that has the Armor playing four games in five nights,

Hornets Call Up Armor's Jeff Foote

The Springfield Armor announced before Thursday night's game vs. Canton that Jeff Foote was "unavailable". Later, Scott Schroeder tweeted, and the Armor confirmed, that the D-League All-Star had been called up to the Hornets. Armor personnel had seen the seven-footer as the most likely Nets call-up.
