Toko leads Armor to rare win with 23 and 6

It seems Tornike Shengelia never has a bad game in the D-League. Basically, he owns Springfield, not the Hall of Fame but the MassMutual Center. On Sunday afternoon, less than 17 hours after losing to Sioux Falls, he scored 23 to help the Armor win.

Reed dominates in Armor loss

The Nets send Tyshawn Taylor and Tornike Shengelia down to Springfield Saturday morning but when the Armor played Sioux Falls Saturday night, the best player on the court was Willie Reed, the 6'10" center who had a cameo with Memphis last season.

Big plans for Armor not working out

The Nets have big plans for the Armor, wanting it to be a true development team, not unlike a baseball minor league team. But as injuries decimated the big club, the Armor hasn't seen any Nets players and they keep losing, now 1-8.

Doug Overton wins first game as Armor coach

Doug Overton got his first win as a head coach Friday night in Portland, Maine, as the Armor defeated the Maine Red Claws, 92-81. Springfield had been 0-5 under Overton, the long-time Nets development coach who moved north this season.

Armor guard has great game, bad 20 seconds

Johnson had the best game of his D-League season Sunday, but the worst 20 seconds as well. The 6'2" guard out of Concordia-Irvine registered a career-high 25 points but committed a personal and technical late and the Armor lost their fifth straight.

Thomas plays well in Armor loss to Canton

Despite a couple of comebacks, the Springfield Armor, the Nets' D-League affiliate fell to the Canton Charge. Adonis Thomas, a 6'7" small forward, led one of the charges and finished with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-4 from deep.

The Nets are utilizing the NBA D-League in a way that helps them develop young prospects and compensate for the lack of draft picks.

Nets Sign Forward Adonis Thomas

The Nets announced they have signed University of Memphis forward Adonis Thomas, putting the roster at 18 players. Thomas' contract is not guaranteed.

Nets waive Gary Forbes

After hitting all three of his three-point attempts on Thursday vs. the Heat, reality entered Gary Forbes' locker room cubicle when the Nets informed him they had waived him. The move leaves the Nets with two training camp invites.

Deron Williams ruled OUT against Wizards

Deron Williams, still limited by his ailing ankle, will sit the Nets' first pre-season game against the Washington Wizards tonight.

Looks like they're going to run, like the Nuggets

There's been a lot of talk about how the Nets want to be known for their defense. But what about the offense? Looks like they're going to run, and run the Denver Nuggets playbook, writes Alex Raskin.

Deron Williams, Jason Terry Injury Update

Deron Williams said that he doesn't expect to play in the Nets first two preseason games, according to The Brooklyn Game. Jason Terry, though, thinks he's about a week away from full contact.
