(Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets try to remain unbeaten at home Tuesday evening, when they host the Toronto Raptors at the Pepsi Center.
Denver has won two of three games since a two-game slide and recently handed the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers a 105-79 beating on Friday in a rematch of last season's Western Conference finals. Carmelo Anthony scored 12 of his 25 points in the third quarter and J.R. Smith ended with 20 for the Nuggets, who improved to 3-0 as the host.
"Hopefully it sends a big message, not just to the Lakers but to the whole NBA," said Anthony, who is second in the NBA with 29.7 ppg. "We're a legit team."
Nene and Ty Lawson each had 13 points in a winning cause.
The Raptors will resume their four-game road trip Tuesday night and had their two-game winning streak stopped with Sunday's 101-100 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the desert.
Chris Bosh had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Raptors, who have lost three of their last five games. Hedo Turkoglu contributed 20 points, while Andrea Bargnani added 17 in defeat.
Bosh has recorded a double-double in five straight games. Toronto is 1-1 on the swing and will close out the road trip on Wednesday in Utah.
Denver took both meetings with Toronto a year ago and has won four straight, nine of 10 and 11 of the last 16 contests in the series. The Raptors have dropped five in a row at the Pepsi Center.
