Rockets elect to pick up option on Brooks

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Rockets guard Aaron Brooks had his fourth-year contract option picked up, the club announced on Friday.
Brooks, who is in his third professional season after being taken 26th overall out of Oregon in the 2007 draft, is averaging 18.5 points and 8.5 assists in the first two games of the 2009-10 season.
Over 133 career contests -- 37 starts -- the 25-year-old has posted averages of 9.0 points and 2.6 assists per game.
