Phoenix Suns

8 - 14

Nothing but questions exist as the Phoenix Suns approach the '11-'12 season.

The Suns desperately need to secure a backup point guard, whether it is restricted free agent Aaron
Brooks or someone else. It is assumed that Grant Hill will be resigned and will start at the small forward
position, but who becomes his backup is up in the air. If the Suns don't pick up a shooting guard, Jared
Dudley becomes it by default, and a host of many wings could back up Hill.

The second unit is also a question mark with the ever inconsistent Robin Lopez at center and a number
of very mediocre options for small forward and shooting guard. Can first round pick (14th overall pick,
2011 NBA Draft) Markieff Morris become the backup power forward? If not, is Gani Lawal ready to
return from his knee injury and play NBA caliber basketball? Are Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick trade
chips or are they capable of contributing?

The regular offseason free agency period was postponed due to the NBA lockout initiated when the
previous CBA expired. The NBA owners insist that the league is losing money and is demanding massive
salary cuts and changes to the way the league is run. The players were satisfied with the previous
agreement and insist the issue is between big and small market franchises and the very popular league
can solve its problems with revenue sharing between the clubs. Both sides are far apart and the 2011-12
NBA season is very much in jeopardy.
