On Saturday morning, the Purdue basketball program suffered a huge blow when forward Robbie Hummel was injured in practice. From the Big Ten Network:
Purdue senior forward Robbie Hummel will miss the 2010-11 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in practice on Saturday.
This is the second time in 2010 that Hummel has suffered a torn ACL. Throughout his collegiate career, Hummel has been one of the best players in the Big Ten while healthy, but the senior has suffered a rash of injuries that have limited his playing time.

Robbie Hummel Given Full Clearance To Return To Purdue's Basketball Team
Robbie Hummel says he's been cleared to play, which is obviously great news for the Purdue basketball team. The 6-foot-8 senior told CBSSports.com on Friday that his surgeon actually cleared him a month ago, but that he's been rehabbing at Tim Grover's Chicago facility since then.
Hummel has not been able to play for nearly 18 months, last appearing in a game back in February 2010. He's been out after twice tearing his ACL. During his last season, Hummel averaged 15.7 points and 6.9 rebounds while playing 30.3 minutes per game. If not for his injury, Purdue likely would have been a Final Four contender. As it is, they will be welcoming him back after losing E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson to the NBA.
