The USA TODAY/ESPN Top 25 coaches poll has earned somewhat of a reputation over the years as being a tad bit kinder to ranked teams after losses, especially those teams from high major conferences. This week's poll is no different, with No. 24 Michigan State and No. 25 Minnesota managing to hang on to their spot in the top-25, while they were shown the door in the AP Top 25 poll.
The three teams that did end up losing their ranking from the coaches, were Memphis following a blowout at Tennessee, Vanderbilt after a loss at South Carolina, and Cincinnati, whose first and only loss of the year cost them a top-25 ranking, in no small part to their weak preconference schedule.
Replacing them in the rankings this week are 11-3 Temple at No. 23, 12-3 Wisconsin at No. 21 and 12-3 Washington at No. 18, thanks to their six game winning streak.
