Wisconsin Vs. Michigan St: Badgers Hold Spartans To Season-Low First Half, Lead 23-20

The fewest points that the Spartans had scored in a first half this season was 22 on December 31st versus Minnesota. Tonight's 20 points marks a new low. One of their problems is the outside shot: Michigan State managed to make it the entire first half without a three-point basket. The Badgers, however, hit three of their eight.

Wisconsin missed five shots in a row to end the first half and that allowed the Spartans to creep back in to the game. They went on a 13-4 run, capped off by a three-point play from their forward Draymond Green. He finished the first half with 5 points and 3 assists. For the Badgers, Keaton Nankivil and Jon Leuer led the team with 8 and 7 points respectively, both pulling in 3 rebounds.

Both teams slowed down on their turnovers, and the Spartans pulled ahead in rebounds, finishing the quarter with 16. The Badgers hold the lead, 23-20, at halftime,
