BYU Vs. Utah: Jimmer Fredette's 47 Points Lift Cougars To 104-79 Win

BYU senior Jimmer Fredette put together an impressive performance on Tuesday night, scoring 47 points in a 104-79 BYU rout of Utah. Fredette connected on 16-28 shots for the game, including six of nine three-point attempts. By the time the team's headed to the locker room for the half, Fredette had already done most of his damage, scoring 32 points in the first 20 minutes, including a 30-foot buzzer-beater at the half. It was one of those days for the BYU star.

With the 47-point outburst, Fredette moved into the national scoring lead, passing UConn freshman sensation Kemba Walker. Fredette's 26.1 points per game just barely edges Walker, who averages 25.3 points himself.

All five BYU starters were in double figures on a night that saw the Cougars' bench score just two points. Jackson Emery added 20 points. His two steals also set a career mark at BYU. Kyle Collinsworth grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

For the Utes, it was Will Clyburn leading the way in the loss. The junior scored a team-high 23 points on 7-16 shooting. Josh Watkins added 19 points, 11 of which came at the free throw line. J.J. O'Brien, David Foster and Shawn Glover each tallied double-digit rebounds for the Utes.

Utah fell to 7-13 with the loss while BYU improved to 17-1 on the year.
