Rick Ross Suffers Another Seizure, Will Miss Memphis' Midnight Madness

Stay connected with SB Nation

You can't say Rick Ross didn't try to make it to Memphis' Midnight Madness. The best laid plans were undone by not one, but two seizures on Friday, each of which occurred on a plane as he traveled to Memphis. Sandwiched in between was a reassuring video from Ross on a private jet just before he took off from Fort Lauderdale.

The report comes from TMZ ... again.

Rick went to the hospital, was released, and then took off at 5:07 PM ET from Ft. Lauderdale to make his concert  tonight in Memphis. But at 5:44 PM CDT, the plane was diverted and landed in Birmingham after Rick had a seizure on board.

Sources tell TMZ, rapper Yo Gotti -- who was originally supposed to perform with Rick Ross in Memphis tonight -- has now been asked to perform solo. So far, Gotti hasn't decided.

Not sure if we can laugh at this yet, but you may never see a quote like this from a college coach again:

"I had people calling asking what I did to the Boss," Pastner said, and you should know that Boss is one of Ross' many nicknames. "But the Boss is still coming. He's alive."

The Bawse is reportedly in stable condition at a Birmingham hospital and the show will go on without him. Get well soon, Ricky Rosay.
