After trailing at halftime, the Villanova Wildcats trailed the La Salle Explorers 31-26. Surprisingly Nova was down only 5 points after going 0-12 from the 3-point line, being called on multiple offensive fouls, and turning the ball over 13 times. The Wildcats jumped out in the second half, taking back the lead after Maalik Wayns sunk two free throws to put Nova up 32-31.
The Wildcats eventually took a 5 point lead in the second half and began locking down defensively. Late in the game, Darrun Hilliard cut into a passing lane to steal the ball and took it down the court to tie the game at 61-61 with 45 seconds left in the game. After the game went into overtime, it was all Villanova as they outscored La Salle 15-8 to grind out the win.
