The No. 7 Baylor Bears ran by the Prairie View A&M Panthers, 90-54, Tuesday night, thanks to a 27-point effort by Perry Jones III.
The No. 7 Baylor Bears and their duo of stars romped to an easy victory over the Prairie View A&M Panthers, 90-54, at home in Waco, Texas, moving their record to 6-0.
Sophomore forward, and likely NBA lottery pick, Perry Jones III poured it in early and often, finishing with 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting, feasting on his less-talented and undersized opponents. Jones' bash brother in the frontcourt, Quincy Acy, scored 13 points to go with 10 rebounds, as well.
Three other Bears — junior Pierre Jackson, sophomore Cory Jefferson and freshman Deuce Bello — scored in double figures to help lead the rout. Jackson dropped in 17 points and dished out seven assists to key the attack, and he did it all without missing a single shot — he went 4-of-4 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point land, and 7-of-7 from the foul line.
Freshman guard Montreal Scott led the Panthers with 14 points and sophomore forward Jules Montgomery scored 13 and pulled down nine rebounds in the loss.
