St. John's Overwhelms No. 10 UConn, Scores 89-72 Upset

The Connecticut Huskies slide through the Big East continues, as they've now dropped three of their last four. The St. John's Red Storm were in the same boat about a month ago, but wins over the Duke Blue Devils and UConn will brighten anybody's NCAA Tournament hopes.

Dwight Hardy exploded for 33 points, including five threes and flawless free throw shooting, and D.J. Kennedy's 20 points and 11 rebounds helped the Red Storm dominate the boards at Madison Square Garden. The Storm hit nine of their 16 three-point attempts, and shot 49.2 percent overall on the night.

Kemba Walker was held to 15 points, hitting only four of his 16 attempts from the floor. At least they were all threes. Four Huskies hit double figures, including Roscoe Smith's 16, but that's about all the offense they could muster.

UConn hopes to get it right against Providence next, while St. John's heads to Cincinnati.
