Chris Wright Will Play In NCAA Tournament After Broken Hand Injury, Tweets Chris Wright

Two weeks ago, Chris Wright was having surgery to repair a broken hand. Today, Chris Wright is tweeting that he will return from that injury for the NCAA Tournament.

Everybody wondering if im playing in the NCAA's. Yes i will be playing.

Wright had averaged 13.1 points and 5.4 assists per game through his first 28 games this season, and had scored 22.6 points per game over his last three outings before being hurt. Without him, the Hoyas went 0-4, losing twice to Cincinnati and thrice by double digits.

So it goes without saying that Georgetown's reaction to Wright coming back will be nothing short of elation. He should make a Hoyas squad that was likely an early exit candidate without him into a Sweet Sixteen contender.

Of course, it's also worth noting that while Wright tweeting that he will be playing is a strong indication that he will, it is not quite confirmation.

Chris Wright Injury: Broken Hand Required Surgery, Will Affect Big East Tourney

Chris Wright had surgery Thursday morning to repair his broken non-shooting hand. He's likely to miss the rest of the regular season and the Big East Tournament, but the team expects its star guard to return in time for the NCAA Tournament.

With 13.1 points and 5.4 assists per game, the senior guard is one of Georgetown's best players. His loss hurts a Hoyas team that had made a great run through the Big East regular season after early setbacks.

Wright broke his hand early in the second half of Wednesday night's loss against the Cincinnati Bearcats. He hurt it while reaching for a loose ball with Cincy's Cashmere Wright. After attempting to play with a wrapped left hand, he decided he had to leave the rest of the game.

Casual Hoya, SB Nation's Georgetown community, feels for Wright but knows the team has to get ready to play the Syracuse Orange.
