USC has defeated California, 70-56, to advance to the semifinals of the Pac-10 Tournament. The win saves USC's very slim at-large hopes and pretty much ends any chance of the Golden Bears somehow sneaking to the fringes of the NCAA Tournament bubble. Four Trojans scored in double figures to carry USC to a comfortable win.
The Trojans move to 19-13 on the season and will play the winner of the game between No. 1 seed Arizona and Oregon State on Friday. The Golden Bears' next game will likely be in the NIT, as they fell to 17-14.
USC took an eight-point lead at halftime, and wasted little time in advancing it to double digits. The Trojans went on a 14-2 run early in the second half, eventually taking a 48-31 lead on a layup by Donta Smith with 13:46 remaining. California got no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
