The semifinal portion of the 2011 SEC Tournament bracket gets underway Saturday afternoon as Kentucky, the No. 2 seed from the East Division, takes on Alabama, the No. 1 seed from the West Division. The Wildcats are looking to defend their SEC title from last season, while Alabama looks to solidify its place in the NCAA Tournament field after a huge comeback win over Georgia in the quarterfinals on Friday. The Crimson Tide are in our latest Bracketology projection, but just barely.
In the second semifinal, top-seeded Florida taken on Vanderbilt. The Gators advanced with an 85-74 win over Tennessee in the quarterfinals, shooting 59 percent and scoring 56 points in the second half. Vanderbilt got here by topping Mississippi State, 87-81.
