BYU let it be known early that Brandon Davies’ dismissal from the Cougars basketball team was not related to any kind of crime.
And so, everyone took turns trying to figure out what kind of deviant behavior Davies was engaged in that warranted this “unspecified honor code violation.” Turns out, it was just a little sex. Apparently.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Davies’ admitted to having sexual relations with his girlfriend, a violation of the code.
Davies, a sophomore from Provo High, acknowledged his transgression to BYU officials on Monday.
A source told The Tribune that Davies is “extremely remorseful, heartbroken” but has accepted the punishment doled out by the school.
It’s not clear how Davies found himself in a situation that he needed to admit “guilt.” One hopes that he wasn’t sex-narc’d by a fellow student.
