Mike Anderson has agreed to accept the Arkansas Razorbacks basketball head coaching job, according to CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish. The Kansas City Star’s Mike DeArmond reports Anderson has been given permission by the Missouri Tigers to speak with Arkansas, but that he has yet to inform them of any intentions to leave and that players haven’t been told Anderson’s leaving.
Just to make this more complicated, KFSM in Fayetteville reports Anderson has already signed the contract, getting the deal done this afternoon in Tulsa.
The Star also reports Anderson has a Thursday deadline either way. Missouri has reportedly offered Anderson an extension to his current deal, which already still had five years left on it. Whether they’re willing to match Arkansas’ seven-year deal isn’t known, but the money appears to be very similar.
Almost every outlet — collected one-by-one for you by SB Nation Kansas City — has Anderson leaving Mizzou for Arkansas, but it’s by no means a done deal, even according to Parrish’s report.
