New Big 12 rule: you decide to leave the conference for another, you aren't getting past the first round of the conference basketball tournament. Colorado does not play by this rule, topping Iowa State 77-75 hours after Oklahoma State sent Nebraska packing. How do you enforce a rule against a team that's leaving anyway. All the tourney's remaining teams will be back next year, Lord willin'.
For their troubles, the Buffaloes get the conference's No. 4 seed, Kansas State, a team they swept in the regular season. It's not easy to beat a team three times in a season, but Colorado's not interested in following your rules anyway.
Down by two with 35 seconds left, Iowa State broke out a very strange assortment of offense. A deep three with tons of time on the clock? Colorado ended the game with a 13-5 run, coming back from what appeared to be a solid deficit.
