Jim Larranaga Meeting With George Mason Basketball Players Thursday, According To Report

Jim Larranaga, who's reportedly in talks with the Miami Hurricanes about their ongoing need for a head basketball coach, will hold a team meeting with his George Mason Patriots players Thursday night, according to the New York Post's Lenn Robbins.

The GMU coach doesn't have any particular Florida connections that I can uncover, but let's be honest, folks. Larranaga is getting up there in age. Miami is famous for offering many recreational activities for successful seniors. I'm just saying.

He's also perhaps the biggest name that has been connected to the Canes job since Frank Haith left for Mizzou, other than Frank Martin, whom Miami has shown no particular interest in courting. Could his well-known motivational speeches be just the thing to light a fire under an underwhelming ACC program?
