Calvin Godfrey Kicked Off Iowa State Basketball Team For Marijuana Possession

Rising sophomore power forward Calvin Godfrey is no longer a member of the Iowa St. Cyclones basketball team, having been dismissed from the squad for a marijuana possession whoopsie. Godfrey has been in trouble multiple times already, and coach Fred Hoiberg has simply had enough. Godfrey missed three conference games last season for other issues.

The six-foot-eight big man started a handful of games for the Clones, averaging 5.7 points and 5.4 boards in just over 20 minutes per game.

Godfrey's dismissal comes just after his one-year anniversary in Ames; the Minnesota product signed on in early May, 2010, with Iowa State fans and coaches excited about adding his size and strength to the Cyclones front court. The good news for ISU fans is Godfrey's exit opens up a scholarship for another recruit, which will likely need to be another especially tall individual.
