Bryce Drew In For Homer Drew As Valparaiso Basketball Coach, According To Report

Valparaiso basketball will have a new coach Drew for its 2011-12 season, according to the Indianapolis Star's Jeff Rabjohns. After two decades of Homer Drew -- with a one-year cameo by son Scott Drew -- associate coach Bryce Drew is reportedly set to take over. Yes, that's another Homer Drew son.

The elder Drew coached the Crusaders to nine Mid-Continent Conference titles before the school moved up to the Horizon League, where it's made the CBI and CIT in the four seasons since. Bryce Drew has been on board for all four of those years, joining in 2005 as an assistant and 2006 as an associate.

The former Indiana Mr. Basketball played at Valpo as well, where he's best remembered for sinking the shot that gave the No. 13 Crusaders a 1998 March Madness upset of the No. 4 Mississippi Rebels.
