Forward Olu Ashaolu Transfers From Louisiana Tech To Oregon Ducks Basketball

After narrowing his transfer choices to Texas, Xavier, and San Diego State, senior-to-be (as far as eligibility goes) Olu Ashaolu has decided to take his talents from Louisiana Tech to the University of Oregon. Because Ashaolu has already completed his undergraduate degree, he will be eligible to suit up for the Oregon Ducks basketball team immediately, provided he selects a graduate program that is not offered by Louisiana Tech.

Ashaolu averaged 14.2 points and 9.4 rebounds last season at Louisiana Tech, and the 6-foot-7 forward is expected to be a great upgrade to the depth of Dana Altman's frontcourt. Though the Pac-12 will be a serious step up in competition from the WAC, where Ashaolu played last season, he was able to produce a double-double in Louisiana Tech's game against Texas. Ashaolu joints E.J. Singler in the frontcourt and is expected to compete for a starting place immediately.
