The No. 14 ranked Murray State Racers hosted the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in an OVC conference game hoping to stay undefeated. Murray State was able to take a 25-23 point lead at halftime and the open up in the second half. The Gamecocks never lead in the first half. Donte Poole hauled in 21 points and 3 steals for the Racers, who won their seventeenth game in a row and are off to the best start in school history.
Junior forward Ed Daniel nearly had a double-double on the night, adding 11 points and 9 rebounds with three blocks for Murray State. In the loss, Brian Williams led Jacksonville State in scoring with 18 points as they lose their fifth OVC conference game of the season and falling to 6-13 on the season. With less than five minutes to go in the game, the Racers held a 13 point lead as they coasted to the victory to stay undefeated on the season.
