The Creighton Bluejays squeaked out a 66-65 victory over the Missouri Bears on Wednesday night.

The No. 19 Creighton Bluejays escaped Springfield with a 66-65 victory over the Missouri State Bears on Wednesday night. Grant Gibbs wound up making the eventual game-winning shot, a jumper, with 1:06 left on the clock. Missouri State's Jamar Gulley hit a three-pointer 10 seconds later, but two missed jumpers over the final seven seconds of the game doomed the upset bid.

Creighton spread out its scoring with nine of 10 players scoring at least three points. Gregory Echenique put up a game-high 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Doug McDermott was the only other double-digit scorer for the Bluejays with 15 points.

The Bears were able to stay in this game by taking advantage of 14 Creighton turnovers while only giving the ball away three times. Anthony Downing led the team with 14 points and was followed by Kyle Weems' 13 points.

Creighton improved to 17-2 and 7-1 overall in the Missouri Valley Conference. They will play Indiana State on Saturday.
