Jan 19, 2012 - After being suspended indefinitely while the school investigated physical contact between he and a player, Morgan State head basketball coach Todd Bozeman has been reinstated by the university.
Bozeman missed three games after an incident in which he made contact with senior guard Larry Bastfield near the end of a Jan. 7 game at South Carolina State. He wasn't allowed to participate in any basketball-related activities during the school's investigation. The Bears went 1-2 in Bozeman's absence.
"I'm just happy to be back with my team," Bozeman told CBSSports.com on Thursday night.
"I'm glad he's back," Bastfield told CBSSports.com moments after hearing the news. "The whole thing was an accident. I knew he'd be back."
Several on-lookers in the crowd, including South Carolina State's president, alleged that Bozeman punched Bastfield in the face. Both the player and the coach, however, allege that the contact was incidental and to Bastfield's chest. Video of the incident reportedly isn't conclusive.
Bozeman will be back on the sidelines Saturday when Morgan State face North Carolina A&T.
