Missouri Vs. Baylor Halftime Score: Ricardo Ratliffe Gives Tigers Lead Early

Stay connected with SB Nation

Saturday afternoon's game between the Missouri Tigers and Baylor Bears was expected to be an excellent game considering it features the top two teams in the Big 12, but it's probably overtaken even those expectations. The Tigers, ranked two behind the No. 3 Bears, took a 39-35 lead into halftime.

The Bears led 14-13 lost standout Kim English due to foul trouble a lot earlier than expected (with 12:40 left in the first half, to be exact), but the Mizzou role players stepped up in a big way. Center Ricardo Ratliffe scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds -- five on the offensive end -- as he exceed what was expected from him while Flip Pressey scored five points, dished four assists and recorded a pair of steals for good measure.

As far as Baylor was concerned, Quincy Miller scored 11 points while Quincy Acy and Pierre Jackson had seven points apiece, but the first half's story was centered on the play of Perry Jones III. The star prospect mustered just six points and three rebounds as he looked a bit too passive on both ends of the floor.

It's still anyone's game, but Mizzou looked poised to take the Big 12 lead with their play in the first half.
