Baylor was undefeated at the beginning of the week. After Missouri got a win on the road in Waco, the Bears now have two losses on the season.
Baylor began its week with an undefeated record and two talented Big 12 teams on the schedule. After No. 5 Missouri came into Waco and knocked off the No. 3 Bears, 89-88, on Saturday, Baylor is facing the first adversity of its year.
Ricardo Ratliffe scored a career-high 27 points and hauled in eight rebounds for the Tigers, who held off a late charge from Baylor. Phil Pressey contributed 18 points, eight assists, and six steals for Missouri, which put four of five starters in double figures.
The Bears stayed in it until late despite a near no-show from likely NBA Draft lottery pick Perry Jones III, who had eight points and four rebounds. Quincy Miller scored 29 points to lead all scores, and Pierre Jackson added 20 points and 14 assists of his own.
The final score belied Missouri's durable second half lead: Baylor's Brady Heslip hit an uncontested three as time expired to cut Missouri's margin of victory to one point.
