No. 6 Ohio State Vs. Nebraska: Buckeyes Coast To Easy Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Ohio State Buckeyes steamrolled the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Lincoln on Saturday, 79-45.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are now 5-2 in Big Ten play, while the Nebraska Cornhuskers have fallen to 2-6 after the Buckeyes' easy 79-45 win in Lincoln, Nebraska. Thad Motta likes to play a small rotation and give his stars a lot of minutes in most games, but did not play any member of his starting five for 30 minutes in the rout.

Nebraska was within a respectable 16 points at halftime, but things got ugly in the second half. At the under-12 minute media timeout, the Buckeyes had a 56-28 lead. Matta used his entire bench in the game while limiting Jared Sullinger to just 26 minutes. In that limited time, he racked up 14 points and five rebounds. William Buford was the game's leading scorer with 15 points. There was not a Nebraska player in double figures.
