PHOTOS: Nike Unveils Hyper Elite Platinum Uniforms For 8 Schools, Including Syracuse, Duke, UNC

Nike unveiled their new Hyper Elite Platinum uniforms for nine basketball programs, including Syracuse, North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, UConn, Arizona, Baylor and Florida.

Jan 25, 2012 - Nike unveiled their brand new Nike Hyper Elite Platinum uniform on Wednesday for eight schools and nine basketball men's and women's programs, including the Syracuse Orange, Connecticut Huskies, North Carolina Tar Heels, Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, Florida Gators, Baylor Bears and Arizona Wildcats.

All of the programs listed except Baylor get a uniform for their men's program while Baylor and UConn get women's uniforms.

Each uniform is a platinum base highlighted by the colors of each school. The key to this collection of uniforms is the weight, which is ultra-light and allows players optimal movements, especially late in the game.

The jerseys are 5 percent lighter than previous Nike Hyper Elite versions, the shorts feature laser perforations for breathability and the Nike Hyper Enforcer shoes offer a mixture of dependability and flexibility.

The uniforms will only be worn once by each team on the following dates: UConn vs. Notre Dame (1/29), Kentucky vs. Tennessee (1/31), Duke vs. Maryland (2/11), Baylor (women’s) vs. Texas A&M (2/11), Florida vs. Tennessee (2/11), Syracuse vs. USF (2/22), Arizona vs. UCLA (2/25), UConn (women’s) vs. Notre Dame (2/27) and UNC vs. Maryland (2/29).

Check out photos of the uniforms below and check out Nike for more information.

i hate nike

leave the uni’s alone, this is just a marketing ploy to sell more jerseys and make nike even more money. i find it very perplexing that ameicans are fine with nike running sweatshops in the poorest countries and then seling the goods here at top dollar.

Where "Occupy Nike" when you need'em???

Talk about your low of the low…..Nike pays pennies to make this crap overseas and ships it over here to take money out of the hands of under (and over) priveledged youth who CAN least afford to waste their money

And the cycle of poverty rolls on and on….Burn in Hell Phil!!

Most pathetic excuse for a uniform I have ever seen......

I used to think the Oregon crap was ridiculous……at least it has color at times…..they should all say NIKE PRISON LEAGUE across the back…..sad…..

why would Nike mess with Michigan

adidas ftw

If I cared more about my UNC side, I'd call myself "Tar Volon," and that'd be awesome.

Prison league indeed!!

Ironically……actually not ironcially……this is marketed directly to current and future felons.

And it's eventually coming to the NFL.

Seriously?

They all look exactly the same. And that weird dirty gray color, ick.

WTF is RED doing on a UConn uni?

I never thought I’d say this, but: Nike, you suck.

Why are they all exactly the same?

Ignoring the merits of the design or lack thereof, isn’t it a bit wrong that North Carolina, Duke, and Kentucky could take the court together and no one would know the difference?
