No. 15 Creighton extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 77-69 win over Drake on Wednesday night.
The No. 15 Creighton Bluejays got 30 points and nine rebounds from sophomore forward Doug McDermott to improve to 19-2 overall and 9-1 within the Missouri Valley Conference with their 77-69 win over the Drake Bulldogs.
In addition to McDermott's stellar performance, the Bluejays got 15 points from Jahenns Manigat and 11 points and seven rebounds from 6-foot-9, Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique. Center WIll Artino added six points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Creighton has extended their winning streak to nine games and will look to extend that to double-digits against the Bradley Braves on Saturday.
With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 12-9 on the season and are 5-5 within the conference. Sophomore guard Rayvonte Rice led Drake with 23 points and 11 rebounds, including a team-high three boards on the offensive glass. Junior forward Ben Simons added 18 points while senior guard Kurt Alexander added 16 points in 22 minutes off the bench.
The loss snaps the Bulldogs' four-game winning steak. Drake hosts the Wichita St. Shockers on Saturday.
