No. 7 North Carolina cruised to a 74-55 win over N.C. State on Thursday night.
Playing their first game without starting guard Dexter Strickland, senior forward Tyler Zeller had 21 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as the No. 7 North Carolina Tar Heels down the N.C. State Wolfpack 74-55 at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill on Thursday night.
The win was the Tar Heels' 11th straight over their in-state rivals.
Sophomore forward Harrison Barnes added 15 points and fellow sophomore guard Reggie Bullock had 11 points and five rebounds for the Tar Heels, who improved to 17-3 overall and are now 4-1 within the ACC. North Carolina will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Sunday night.
Junior forward Scott Wood led the Wolfpack with 11 points on four-of-12 shooting, including three of nine on three-point attempts. C.J. Leslie and Lorenzo Brown added nine points while C.J. Williams and Richard Howell had eight points apiece.
The Wolfpack go on the road to No. 21 Virginia Tech on Saturday night.
