No. 5 North Carolina Vs. Wake Forest: Tar Heels Cruise To 68-53 Victory

The No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels visited the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Tuesday and picked up another win. The Tar Heels are now 5-1 in ACC play.

The No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels visited ACC rivals the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Tuesday night and kept their momentum rolling, picking up a 68-53 win. The Tar Heels are now 5-1 in the conference and hold an 18-3 overall record. Wake Forest, meanwhile, drops to 11-10 with the loss. They are now 2-5 in ACC play.

UNC took the early lead, entering halftime on top by a score of 36-24. That lead would be enough for the Tar Heels to hang on and pick up the win, as they outscored the Demon Deacons by three points in the second half as well.

Four of the five North Carolina starters put up double digits in scoring. Tyler Zeller had a huge double-double, leading the Tar Heels with 18 points and 18 rebounds. John Henson also picked up a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

On the Wake Forest side, C.J. Harris led all scorers with 19 points, but was the only member of the Deacons to score more than eight points in the game.

North Carolina will play their next game on Saturday, February 4, as they visit the Maryland Terrapins. Wake Forest will also play on Saturday, February 4. They will be visiting the North Carolina St. Wolfpack.
