No. 14 Murray State Vs. Tennessee Tech: Isaiah Canaan Helps Racers Earn 69-64 Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

Isaiah Canaan had 18 points, and a balanced Murray State attack buoyed the Racers in a win over Tennessee Tech.

For Murray State, Isaiah Canaan has been the leader of a talented crew of players who have lost just once in 2012. The No. 14 Racers relied on that blueprint to get a 69-64 comeback win over Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.

After trailing 34-30 at halftime, the Racers started slow in the second period, allowing the Golden Eagles to build their lead to 10 points. But Murray State countered with a 22-7 run to take the lead, and finished with a 10-5 run that included the game's final four points after Tennessee Tech closed to 65-64. Canaan led his team with 18 points, and though he was the only Racer in double figures, he was one of seven Murray State players with six or more points.

Tennessee Tech's Kevin Murphy led all scorers with 26 points, and the Golden Eagles' Jud Dillard had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
