No. 8 Kansas Vs. No. 4 Missouri: Tigers' Late Rally Secures Border War Win, 74-71

The Missouri Tigers got 29 points and nine rebounds from Marcus Denmon, and staged a late rally to top Kansas in Columbia.

Feb 4, 2012 - No. 4 Missouri was trailing, and usual stars Ricardo Ratliffe and Phil Pressey were having bad nights. The Tigers needed a late push to topple No. 8 Kansas. Thanks to Marcus Denmon, they got it.

Denmon had 29 points to lead all scorers, and scored nine straight points late as the Tigers closed with a 11-0 run to get a 74-71 win over the Jayhawks in Columbia. Denmon added nine rebounds and made six of his nine threes to carry Missouri on a night when the Tigers' four other starters had 12 points combined.

Off the bench for the Tigers, Kim English had 18 points, and Michael Dixon added 15.

Thomas Robinson led Kansas with 25 points and 13 rebounds, but was called for a questionable offensive foul late, as was Tyshawn Taylor, who had 23 points.

This game may be the last in the so-called "Border War" to take place in Missouri, at least for a while. The series' future is in doubt with Missouri's impending move from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2012.
