Syracuse Vs. Georgetown: Hoyas Dominating Paint, Lead 31-27 At Half

The key to staying with the Syracuse Orange is to slow down the tempo and dominate them in the paint. So far, the Georgetown Hoyas have accomplished both and they lead the No. 2 team in the nation 31-27 at halftime.

The Hoyas out-rebounded the Orange 26-13, scoring 16 points off offensive boards. They also slowed down the game to a crawl, deflating the Syracuse transition game and forcing the Orange to take bad shots. And of all things, it's the Georgetown zone defense stifling Syracuse.

Hollis Thompson leads Georgetown with eight points while Markel Starks added seven and Jason Clark scored six.

Syracuse is led by Kris Joseph with 12 points and no other Orange has more than four (three players). The Orange are shooting 28% overall to Georgetown's 40%.

It's the first time Syracuse has trailed at halftime at home this season.
